We are working on using a tremel and digging out about. 2 3 foot sections of 2/4s so that our ball or marble may role wher we want it. Not much to show because the rest f project is at home, we made a wooden ramp and have rigged up a pulled and that is working so now we are just working onto that. Each week seems harder and harder and new challenges happen
Making simple machines not-so-simple. We are creating Mini Golf holes out of our Rube Goldberg Machines. The machines do a simple task in a complicated way. Built out of donated supplies and taking months of work by our students, the machines will be up and running on June 12th and we would love to have you join us. This blog is for students to post to it and reflect upon their progress and their setbacks while building the machine.

Louden, Zach, and Jacob
This week we have accomplished very much. We each have finished planning our separate machines that will connect, and along with Zach, we have finished the first machine of my design. Since they are all connected, we have already started the very beginning for Zach's first machine. And Jacob is still gathering the materials he needs for his first machine, which starts the entire Rube Goldberg. And as for the spectacle, we are thinking of having a balloon pop at the end, or something like that. Everything has gone well so far, but there are something's that I think will be difficult to accomplish in the future, like getting the Rube Goldberg to start at the ground and get on top of the table. Other than that, we have finished planning and are in the early stages of the construction of our machines.

So far we have the start of the project done and have the plan laid out and are just putting pieces together and doing test runs.
Right now we are having a bit of trouble though with one piece of the system which we cut to big and need to shrink down but it was fighting us all day.
Next time we'll continue putting the whole thing together and finishing up that one piece.

Emily, Annika, & Hilary's Machine
After a lot of planning, today we started setting up. We tried out the ramp to see how well it worked. Our initial plan was to have the car knock over the book and land on the switch. But after a lot of trials we realized that the book falling over wasn't very reliable. We decided it might be better to get rid of the book and try a different approach. We have a lot of ideas and we're just starting to put them together piece by piece. We have a long way to go but everything seems to be coming together.
